Innovative New Protein Bar Launched through SuperValu!

 A Kerry based business launched a brand new line of nutrition bar, Origin Protein Bars, in Garvey’s SuperValu Tralee last Friday.

A Kerry based business launched a brand new nutrition bar, Origin Protein Bars, through the SuperValu Food Academy in Garvey’s SuperValu Tralee last Friday. Origin Protein Bars are handmade with 100% natural ingredients with no additives and no artificial sweeteners, which are found in other protein bars. Origin Protein Bars have a complete macronutrient profile of healthy fats, 17g protein per bar and natural carbohydrates and they are nutritionally developed with a plant-based prebiotic fibre. This means Origin Bars give a slow release energy without the crash and they keep you fuller for longer, they are a great option for a health snack or for fuelling sporting performance and recovery. 

Origin Bars secured a place on the SuperValu Food Academy, and will be available to purchase in the Food Academy Section in most SuperValu shops in Kerry from mid February, and also through their web-store www.OriginBars.ie. The bars are available in three flavours: Vanilla Almond, Chocolate Mint and Lemon Coconut. They are targeting the Health & Wellbeing, Sports Nutriton and On-the-Go convenience markets.

Origin Bars are handmade in The Kerry Food Hub, Firies. They have been developed by Tralee-based food entrepreneur Niall Harty, who recently qualified with a Postgraduate Certificate in Food, Nutriton and Health from UCD. Niall, when undergoing a massive lifestyle change, was frustrated by the lack of  natural protein bars and amount of ‘low sugar’ bars which are packed with harmful artificial sweeteners, which are currently on the market.

“It’s hard to believe that most protein bars you find on the shelf today come with a European Food Safety Authority health warning ‘causes laxative effects’ due to the artificial sweeteners” says owner of Origin Protein Bars, Niall Harty “We have a vision of changing this and giving people a natural and healthy option. Cutting the ribbon at the launch was WCFC MMA Featherweight Champion, Richie Stack, who is competing on March 5th in Cage Warriors in the 3Area and will be streaming live on UFC FightPass. Richie, who will be using Origin Protein Bars as part of his nutriton plan in the lead up to his big fight said, “Honestly, 100% the best tasting protein bar I have had, well done”.
